Sandcastle American Curlies

Like many other women, I am horse crazy. I love the way they look, smell and relate to the world. When I was a child I often pretended to be a horse....usually a white one and sometimes a black, but my favorite horse was the palomino  Trigger. I never thought in my wildest dreams that one day I would own one.  Lucky for me, I married a man who also enjoyed horses (not as much as I did!) so I talked him into going "just to look" at a half Arabian colt and his dam. Thirty plus years later we are still "hopelessly hooked on horses". 

Sandcastle Farm 

 Ed  and I started Sandcastle Arabians in Southern California in the late 1970's, raising pure Polish Arabians after taking a husbandry course at CalPoly College. We loved  and enjoyed our Arabians for many years but realized we were slowing down and wanted a horse that would be a smooth ride for us as  seniors. We were greatly impressed with a friend's Missouri Foxtrotter so decided to switch our breeding program to gaited horses when we met Bunny Regvalia on a gaited list. It was Bunny who steered us onto the rare gaited American Curly Horse.

I have scoured the internet searching for the best gaited Curly horses that I could find. I have been extremely fortunate to have found horses with rare pedigrees and hard to find colors. I now have a wonderful broodmare band of  very unique horses that are exciting and beautiful.
